Board Positions

Board and committee leaders volunteer their time to lead and manage ANA Business Marketing of Northern California (formerly NORCAL BMA). ANA Business Marketing of Northern California Board Members serve the needs of the Northern California B2B marketing communications community in a myriad ways, overseeing activities and programs, planning and organizing marketing seminars, and upholding the highest professional standards in B2B marketing.

Board Members are elected by the members of ANA Business Marketing of Northern California and serve one-year terms that begin in July of each year. The NorCal BMA term runs from July 1 thru June 30. By joining the ANA Business Marketing board, candidates have a chance to build and shape the organization as well as interact directly with Silicon Valley marketing leaders. These responsibilities are carried out in a constant learning environment in the hottest technology market in the world, there is always something new in the Bay Area.

Each year, several board positions open up as Board Members term out. Below, you can find descriptions of each board position. If you see a position marked "OPEN" or if you would like to be considered for a position that is currently filled, please contact our nominating committee.

Admin Team

PRESIDENT
Oversees the timely and thorough execution of all chapter activities. Communicates chapter news to local and national officers, board members, and the membership-at-large on a regular basis. Chairs board of directors and chapter membership meetings.

VP, FINANCE & TREASURER
Responsible for the payment, recording, and reporting of all chapter finance activities. Establishes the chapter operating budget and oversees expenditures.

SECRETARY
Produces and distributes the minutes of the monthly chapter board of directors. Distributes the call for reports and the monthly agenda.

DIRECTOR, BMA/ANA RELATIONS
Works with the national BMA and ANA organizations to coordinate communications, initiatives, and collaboration.

Marketing Team

VP, MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

DIRECTOR, WEBSITE
Responsible for keeping the content on website fresh and up-to-date, working with programs team on event communications, and updating content for events and initiatives.

DIRECTOR, PR
Responsible for using appropriate print and broadcast media channels to promote the association and maximize exposure in a consistent, efficient,and timely manner to create a stronger awareness in ANA Business Marketing of Northern California's (formerly NORCAL BMA) marketing community while adhering to and reinforcing the BMA brand.

DIRECTOR, COMMUNICATIONS
Supervises assigned committees and functions, specifically social media, public relations, email communications, website activities, and the e-newsletter.

DIRECTOR, SOCIAL MEDIA
Responsible for facilitating a positive, consistent and memorable brand image through social media sites, as well as developing social media programs to supplement other committee advertising and promotion activities.

DIRECTOR, CONTENT AND NEWSLETTERS
Promotes NorCal BMA as an organization and thought leader as the editor of the monthly chapter e-newsletter. Responsible for facilitating a positive, consistent and memorable brand image through our email communications. Creates member-facing content relating industry trends around upcoming events and chapter activities to be featured in our blog, the newsletter, in social, on the website, and in email communications.

Membership & Professional Development Team

VP, MEMBERSHIP & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Builds awareness and grow membership for the ANA Business Marketing of Northern California (formerly NORCAL BMA) Chapter, helps retain current members by communicating our value proposition, and drives attendance to monthly events to attract new members. DIRECTOR, YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM
Promotes membership and activities for the Young Professionals Group (10 years or less in the workforce). Promotes student chapter membership and encourages student involvement in chapter events.

Programs Team

VP, PROGRAMS
Selects qualified speakers (national and local) to share their expertise at our monthly keynotes, seminars, and workshops.Supervises assigned committees and functions, specifically keynote programs, roundtables, workshops, member-only events, and special events.

DIRECTOR, EVENTS
Manages event site contractor and sponsorship; oversees event scheduling, event catering and staff. Responsible for overall event budget and budget processes, including tracking of expenses. Manages event vendor relationships and service providers; negotiates contacts and looks for ways to save money, increase value of association. Manages event attendee program, including comps, refunds and report distribution. Responsible for deploying event collateral post event to all registrants. Creates copy and content to help promote the events. Onsite attendee management, as well as online pre-event registration via EventBrite.

Responsible for identifying, soliciting, and developing sponsorships for our monthly keynotes and events.
